Trunk or Treat on Halloween Night

Monday, Oct 31, from 5-7 pm, in the parking lot of the church. Trunk or Treat is open for the entire community!
We’ll decorate the trunks of our cars, fill them with candy, and welcome people from the Fondren/Jackson community to trick-or-treat from car to car!
We are also making a call out to all parishioners to donate at least 1 bag of candy for our “Trunk ‘r Treat” Event. Please call the church office or email Jan to sign-up your car at 601-982-4880 or jthornton@stjjax.org! This is lots of fun; and a great mingler with our neighbors! Questions?  Call Ann or Jan at 601-982-4880!

Walking the Mourner’s Path

Wednesdays, 6-7:30 pm, in the Oak Ridge House. An eight-week program starting Oct 19 was designed to help those that are in the midst of grieving the loss of a loved one. This is an offering that was designed by St. Anthony Episcopal Church in Arizona. This ministry is led by trained lay members and a priest of the congregation.
Is this is a ministry you might like to know more about? Would you be interested in being trained for this program? In February we hope to bring back Catherine Gilbert, to train more laity and clergy in the Jackson area. If you are interested in this training program for mentors it will be on a Thursday, Friday and half-day on Saturday. Call or email Ann McLemore if you would like to sign up, need more information, or would like to talk. Ann’s cell is 769-257-2377 and email: amclemore@stjjax.org.

Fulfilling our Mission

Pledge cards for 2017 are now available for all St. James’ members to fill out and submit to the parish office by Sunday, Oct 2. Earlier this year, we asked all St. James’ members to help discern a vision of God’s call to us as a parish. Now, as we look ahead to next year, we hope all St. James’ members will pledge to support that vision financially so as to fulfill our mission. So please prayerfully consider how much to give to the church in gratitude for all God has given, trusting that God’s grace is abundant and will flow without ceasing into all of our lives in the year ahead. Remember: we are all called to give from our hearts each in our own way, so no pledge is too small! Click here to pledge. If you have any questions regarding giving to the church, contact Judy Johnson in the church office at 601-982-4880 or jjohnson@stjjax.org. </span

Join Our Pastoral Care Teams

These teams are the heart and soul of the Pastoral Care Commission. There are 5 teams consisting of 8-10 persons with a captain. Teams provide support for families in times of sorrow or crisis. If you are interested (no experience necessary!) in joining our Pastoral Care teams, please email the Rev. Ann McLemore  or Kathy Stephens, or call the church office, 601-982-4880.
