Sunday, 7/17 (Easy day since not preaching!)Jennifer.Southall

7:30 a.m. – Print and organize materials for Fowler Hall presentation; prepare to preside at Eucharist

8:40 a.m. – Preside at Holy Eucharist

10 a.m. – Present on end-of-life issues as part of ethics series in Fowler Hall

11:05 a.m. – Serve as deacon at Holy Eucharist

12:30 p.m. – Head home


9 a.m. – Staff meeting

10 a.m. – Respond to/send emails about musician for 5 p.m. worship, speaker for Fowler Hall forum, stewardship retreat

10:30 a.m. – Have coffee off-site with parishioner to discuss readings for Sunday

11:30 a.m. – Make a few phone calls regarding pastoral care; text with a fourth parishioner; record contacts in pastoral care report

12 p.m. – Lunch

1 p.m. – Call parishioner about pastoral care issue and record in pastoral care report; talk on the phone to another about speaking in Fowler Hall

1:15 p.m. – Reading/exegesis for sermon and Bible studies; prepare for Tuesday morning Eucharist

4:30 p.m. – Head home


7 a.m. – Fill in for Ann as presider at Tuesday morning Eucharist

7:45 a.m. – Have coffee and biscuits with Tuesday morning attendees

8:00 a.m. – Continue reading/exegesis for sermon and Bible studies; respond to emails: re musician for 5 p.m. worship

12 p.m. – Lunch

12:30 p.m.  – Attend funeral of Bishop Gray, Jr., at Cathedral

4 p.m. – Prepare for class at Rankin County Correctional Facility; respond to emails re: Fowler Hall forum

5 p.m. – Leave for Rankin County Correctional Facility 


8 a.m. – Continue reading/exegesis for sermon and Bible studies; respond to/send emails re: Newcomer’s meeting and pastoral care issue; make a couple of pastoral care phone calls (leave messages); record pastoral care contacts into report; send pastoral care report to other clergy and Kathy Stephens

10:45 a.m. – Fill in for Seth at Parish Bible Study

12 p.m. – Lunch

1 p.m. – Prepare for Pre-Baptism meeting

1:30 p.m. – Take phone call with parishioner about a pastoral care issue and record contact in report

1:45 p.m. – Read/edit draft of outline for stewardship retreat presentation

3 p.m. – Prep for Wednesday Evening Eucharist

3:30 p.m. – More reading/exegesis for sermon; respond to emails re: Newcomer’s meeting and Soulworks; chat with a few parishioners at Parish Supper

5 p.m. – Set up/vest for Eucharist

5:30 pm. – Preside at Holy Eucharist

6 p.m. – Pre-baptism meeting

6:45 p.m. – Home


7 a.m. – Fill in for Seth at Men’s Bible study

8 a.m. – Meet with parishioner about upcoming stewardship retreat

9 a.m. – Look over stewardship materials for retreat; text with a couple of parishioners about pastoral care issues, leave a voice message for another, email with another, and talk with two others on the phone; record contacts into pastoral care report

11:30 a.m. – Lunch

12:30 p.m. – More sermon reading/procrastination and reading for stewardship retreat (slow afternoon!)

3:15  p.m. – Head to clergy session at St. Philip’s as part of Mississippi Conference on Music and Liturgy

5:30 p.m. – Home

Friday (day off)

4:30 p.m. – Meet Sheri Cox at church to walk through wedding rehearsal; prepare for Holy Eucharist

5:30 p.m. – Preside at Holy Eucharist

6: p.m. – Fill in for Jamie at wedding rehearsal


12 p.m – Write sermon (in fits and starts)

4 p.m. – Finish sermon!
